I have a rogue file on a USB disk that I can't delete, I am not its
owner and I think it was put there by error at work by a colleague
(iTunes folder + associated files). I can't delete this file from SUSE
10 and it does not allow me to change permissions. How can I get
around this problem without formatting the pendrive?

What is blocking the deletion? Is it a dodgy file name?

If you run
ls -al
in the directory where the misfile is, what is the output?

Ha typical! Should have read your posts at work...

I managed to delete the file staight away on an XP computer at work
(not even my log on!) so I can't try out your suggestions, but I'm
still confused as to why Win could do this but SUSE couldn't.

Thanks for your input.
